Product Details

The radiator dismantling machine is a commonly used stripping-type recycling machine for materials such as air-conditioning radiators and automotive copper-aluminium radiators. It efficiently recovers and separates copper tubing from aluminium foil, thereby enabling the high-value recovery of resources. The radiator dismantling machine is capable of rapidly separating the copper tubing and aluminium foil from scrap air-conditioning radiators without damaging the copper tubing or aluminium foil, leaving them in block form rather than powder.

This equipment features a modular design. It has a small footprint and can be operated as a stand-alone unit or in conjunction with pre-treatment equipment. It is suitable for small-scale recycling plants and collection points, and is adaptable to manufacturers of various sizes.

RDM-1000 Radiator Dismantling Machine

The radiator dismantling machine is suitable for processing materials such as scrap air-conditioning radiators, automotive copper and aluminium radiators, and central heating radiators. However, the raw materials must be flat and free from severe bending or similar defects. Additionally, a sawing machine can be fitted for the pre-processing of irregularly shaped materials. The recovered products include: copper tubing (fully stripped and undamaged, suitable for direct use as recycled copper feedstock) and aluminium foil (retained in block form to facilitate subsequent smelting and reprocessing).

The radiator dismantling machine is suitable for a wide range of radiator types.
The radiator dismantling machine can recover materials such as copper tubing, aluminium foil and iron blocks.

Technological Process

The core operating principle of the heat sink disassembly machine is to utilise mechanical force to break the bond between the copper tubes and the aluminium fins. This achieves a physical, non-destructive separation of the two metals, rather than through crushing or melting.

Directional compression and peeling

Once the material enters the machine, directional pressure is applied to the heat sink core via a specialised set of partition blades or rolling rollers. The blades cut precisely into the base of the fins. Using the principle of leverage, the aluminium fins are gently prised away from the surface of the copper tubes, thereby peeling them off. At the same time, the overall curved shape of the copper tubes is maintained without being severed.

Differential Force Separation

Copper possesses high ductility, whilst aluminium is relatively brittle. The machine applies controlled force near the fracture point of the aluminium fins, causing them to detach in chunks. Due to their higher toughness, the copper tubes remain intact, thereby preventing the generation of metal powder.

Modular Adaptability

The equipment can be customised for different types of heat sinks. It can effectively dismantle units with varying spacings (e.g. 19 mm, 21 mm, 25 mm) and numbers of layers (single-layer/double-layer). By adjusting the blade set clearance or roller pressure, the process ensures that the surface of the copper tubes remains undamaged during separation, thereby safeguarding their recycling value.

Advantageous

  • High-efficiency separation: A single unit is capable of rapidly separating copper tubing from aluminium foil. No additional auxiliary equipment is required. The separation efficiency is high, reaching over 99 per cent.
  • Cost-effective and practical: The equipment features a compact design, occupies a small footprint and is easy to operate. After crushing, the material needs to be ground into smaller particles or powder to facilitate subsequent separation. It is suitable for small- to medium-scale production. This equipment offers excellent value for money and a rapid return on investment.
  • Flexible Configuration: The radiator dismantling machine is suitable for a wide range of materials. The feed opening size can be customised to accommodate radiators of various specifications. It can process both single-layer and double-layer fins. It is compatible with complex materials such as air-conditioning outdoor units and automotive radiators. Can be used in conjunction with a sawing machine to pre-process wide-width heat sinks. This enhances overall processing capacity.
  • Safety Protection: The radiator dismantling machine can be fitted with a customisable automatic power-cut-off safety device. Should an operator’s hand come too close to the blades, the machine will automatically shut down. Integrated electrical protection devices prevent damage to equipment caused by overloads or faults.
  • Highly efficient and durable: Featuring high-hardness alloy cutting tools and a modular design, the machine is easy to maintain and has a long service life. The precision cutting tool set operates in synchronisation to accurately separate the copper tubing from the aluminium foil, thereby minimising material wastage.
